Norfolk Ram Group, LLC (Norfolk) is an environmental consulting and engineering firm with offices in Plymouth and Framingham, Massachusetts. Norfolk employs 30 employees between the two office locations. With a dedicated staff of Licensed Site Professionals (LSPs), Professional Engineers, environmental scientists, civil, chemical and environmental engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and remediation contractors, Norfolk professionals have provided environmental and engineering services throughout New England for over 25 years. The firm's founding partners, Mark S. Bartlett and Brian V. Moran have worked together since 1993, originally doing business as Norfolk Environmental (Stoughton and Raynham, MA). The firm's name was changed to Norfolk Ram Group, LLC after a merger in 2001 with Ram Environmental (of Plymouth, MA)
The firm has built its reputation on management continuity and involvement, timely completion of projects, timely communication with clients, and ongoing quality assurance and cost control. We place a premium on client satisfaction and many of our projects lead to long-term client relationships.
Norfolk has been a pioneer in the use of innovative/alternative technologies. For example, in the practice area of site remediation, Norfolk was the first firm in Massachusetts to implement the use of In-situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) for the remediation of sites contaminated with petroleum or chlorinated solvents. Norfolk first applied this technology on behalf of clients on a full-scale basis in 1994, and continues to be a leader in its use. ISCO technology has helped many of Norfolk's clients address soil and groundwater contamination in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. In another practice area, that of stormwater management, Norfolk is the first firm in Massachusetts to implement the use of Low Impact Development best management practices (e.g. bioretention cell / raingarden systems) to retro-fit an existing residential area for control and treatment of stormwater in a surface water supply watershed area. Norfolk continues to be one of the few firms in Massachusetts with expertise in this civil engineering practice area.
Norfolk professionals have access to extensive technical resources and all of the firm's professionals strive to stay informed of current local, state, federal and international environmental laws and regulations in their areas of expertise. In addition to the firm's project experience files, resources include an up-to-date environmental engineering library containing comprehensive reports, technical publications, and codes, statutes, and regulations, all supplemented by high speed internet access to increasingly available technical data sources. For example, Norfolk enlists the services of several informational search database services, such as New England DataMap, ERIC and EAI for rapid retrieval of environmental, geographical, topical, aerial, and demographic information.
Norfolk has full engineering design capability and utilizes the most recent version of AutoCADTM , ArcViewTM (GIS) and other specialized software programs for applications that include hydrologic analyses, contaminant transport modeling, and project management. Project management software is used to maintain accurate control of scheduling for multi-task projects. These state-of-the-art systems play a large role in ensuring successful projects by reducing research time, avoiding costly duplication of effort and ensuring stringent quality control.
