Clients impacted by solid waste management concerns look to Norfolk Ram for landfill design services including drainage, landfill gas and leachate management and capacity utilization issues as well as landfill design and construction oversight. Norfolk Ram engineers consult for local planners and community groups to discuss important landscape and topographic issues. Our staff include landscape designers and engineers who perform comprehensive site evaluations to aid in proposing the best functional design. Norfolk Ram is also experienced in facilitating the closure of landfills through the importation of Urban Fill in accordance with applicable state regulations governing disposal of contaminated soils at landfills, including providing oversight and monitoring of such imported soils for total petroleum hydrocarbons, and heavy metals utilizing ultra violet fluorescence (UVF) and x-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology.
Norfolk Ram also provides services with regard to the requirement for treatment of hazardous waste per 40 CFR 262, under the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), including creation of waste minimization programs, recordkeeping and reporting and staff training.
